Why You Should Be Using Labels
Labeling is the final step in the home organization process, and it just may be the most important.
Stop and think about how much easier your life would be if everything had a label? How much faster would you be able to put things away and get them back out if everything was clearly labeled? How much time would you save not having to search for misplaced items?
Here's why labeling is so important:
1. Searching through drawers for something specific or forgetting where things go becomes a thing of the past. You will always know exactly where to find what you are looking for.
2. It helps ensure that everyone in your household knows where things go. It can save time when getting things out and putting them away.
3. When your baskets, bins, drawers etc. in your home are labeled, you’re less likely to bring new clutter into your home. When all of your things have their own spot, it’s easy to see when something doesn’t belong or you have too much of something.
4. Having labels helps you stay organized because it creates a system and order to how things are placed in your home.
5. When things are properly labeled everyone in your household can easily find what they are looking for. No need to come to you constantly asking where things are.
So after you organize anything into some sort of container, make sure you put a label on it. You can also label things not in a container. Label shelves or put a label right on the inside of a drawer.
Can you label too much? Probably, but to this day I have not encountered that issue. So get out there and label, label, label!
